Toyota has announced a recall for certain 2016-2017 model year Tacomas. It has been determined that the V6 engine crankshaft timing rotor may have too much anti-corrosion coating on it. As a result, the crank position sensor may not work correctly. Some signs of this include the vehicle running roughly, misfiring, or even stalling.

How many cars are affected?
It has been reported that around 32,000 Tundra vehicles are covered by this safety recall.

When will there be a remedy for this issue, and what is the remedy?
Toyota anticipates that any customer affected by this recall should be notified by mid-July. Affected customers will receive first-class notification and will be able to have this part replaced with a new crank position sensor at no cost to them. You can use our recall lookup tool to see if your vehicle is affected.
