2019 Toyota 4Runner

Wow! It’s been 35 years of the Toyota 4Runner! The SUV was introduced back in 1984 and over the years, the Toyota 4Runner has built a reputation as the do-anything adventure vehicle. But of course, times have changed and in those 35 years, the 4Runner has clearly evolved to offer more things drivers search for including comforts, safety and tech. However, plain and simple, the main reason the 4Runner is still beloved has less to do with any changes that have been made over the years. Instead it has more to do with what hasn’t changed – namely the 4Runner has never lost its core DNA as a SUV that is clearly up for anything.

For 2019, changes have been made for the 4Runner, as it gains in both looks and capability, thanks to two new offerings.

The first is the 4Runner TRD Pro has returned in 2019 with some significant changes. The biggest of these changes for the 2019 4Runner TRD Pro is an all-new suspension package that includes 2.5-inch Fox Internal Bypass Shocks for impressive off-road performance that doesn’t sacrifice on-road handling. 4Runner TRD Pro also gains a TRD Roof Rack, standard JBL Premium Audio and moonroof, and an updated front skid plate with red TRD lettering.

The second offering is the new Nightshade Special Edition which will offer limited buyers a sleek, sporty package. This is accented with black features that include 20-inch black wheels, black bumper and grille accents, and black interior trim on the steering wheel, center cluster, console panels and shifter, just to name a few.

One thing is certain. It doesn’t matter what the grade or package is, the 2019 Toyota 4Runner is just as versatile as it has ever been. It is still a family-hauling, hill-climbing, boat-towing, sport-utility SUV that really can adapt to just about any situation. It’s also super roomy and offers seating for up to seven passengers. So whether the 2019 Toyota 4Runner is blazing trails or navigating the concrete jungle, it is absolutely up to the task.
